Your server’s nfig file should now have an empty serverUsers entry. We made a couple of changes to the way that servers configure user accounts, and since several users have asked about it, here’s a brief explanation.
I'm just coding up a storm right now to sort through this before I say anything else.To all the people trying to figure out how to admin your self, here is the guide of the starbound website.Īs many of you have already noticed, the changes from our February 12 unstable update have now been pushed to stable. Seems that I wasn't properly writing to the save file's equipment slot so NONE of the color changes were working.
As far as I know there's no flag to force using color directivesĮDIT2: May have spoke too soon again. Most armor has a specific set of colors you can set using a colorIndex rather than color directives I'm not sure yet how the game determines which items can have that directives tag, but I know a few more things now:
I imagine it should work out as expected but I'll make an update again when I know more.ĮDIT: So I now know that putting a directives variant on just any item doesn't seem to work in game. Then I need to see if I can indeed force colors to save to your file. I have to probe further but I believe I can just read out the default colors so at least visually my editor's character preview is the same as in-games. This means that the next thing I'm going to work on is better support for armor colors. These colors aren't stored in your save file like the starter armor's are, which means currently my editor won't be able to change or read them Other armor gets it's color from the first color directives in the armor's JSON file The only armor that the game colors currently is the starter armor. Your back item and head item now show up properly now (still no color editing options for it), but on further research into the coloring issue I believe I've come to some conclusions: I listen to everyone's complaints and requests and will always take them into consideration. If you wish for SBSE to become more usable, the best way for you to help is to simply report any problems you have directly to me. Please keep this in mind if you're going to use SBSE. I do my best to release stable versions but there is always a chance that a release may end up with some problems. SBSE Desktop is currently offered as a BETA program, and is bound to have bugs and missing features.
I've tried to make SBSE play nice with any configuration, so you should be able to edit aspects of your modded characters too! It is not finished because I am still trying to scavenge the files.
Simply extract into your mods folder in your Starbound folder, and thats it Basic character creation system based on the game by ChuckleFish called Starbound.
This is a simple mod to clean up custom species. SBSE attempts to work with the set up that YOU have, including mod support. Starbound Character Editor Download Average ratng: 9,0/10 4036 votes.
Some races have more than one color for both skin and hair, and you can edit all of them! You can also edit your name, description, and even change your hair to any of your species' hair styles regardless of gender! Specifically, this beta version will allow you to modify almost any color your character uses, including hair, skin, and armor. The only downside to it is that it cannot read mods (they will appear invisible in the editor, but still accept custom colors) and read Beta v. From there, you can change your hair style and pick custom colors for both your gear and character. Some races in Starbound do not use standard sex symbols. Unfortunately in the beta so far there's no good way to modify some of these attributes! In comes SBSE, a downloadable tool that hopes to allow you to expand beyond what the natural limits of the game will allow. You can upload your player file and it'll bring up your character + your current equipped gear. During the Character Creation process in Starbound, the player will be able to choose between the available seven races. The player will also be able to choose the sex of the chosen race. Starbound is a pretty open game, and was made in such a way that lets you edit many aspects about your character. I do not guarantee continual support for Nightly releases, but will attempt to update as much as I can. SBSE Desktop works on all current versions of Starbound, including Unstable and Nightly builds up to Upbeat Giraffe.
